SICK LEAVE POLICY


1. PURPOSE:

 1.1 Sick leave provides employees opportunity to address their medical needs without loss of    pay.

2. POLICY:

 2.1 All employees are responsible to submit leave request as per policy.

 2.2 Head of Departments are responsible for monitoring the sick leave of employees within the    department.

 2.3 Sick Leave entitlement is 15 days with full pay and 30 days half pay after completion of    probationary period (6months) for every completed year of service.

 2.4 Unused sick leave cannot be carried over to the next year.

 2.5 Unused Sick Leave cannot be converted to cash.

 2.6 Public Holidays and weekend (Friday) that will occur during the sick leave will be
    considered as sick leave.

 2.7 Any suspected abuse of sick leave may lead to Disciplinary Action.

 2.8 Sick Leave is granted within UAE only.

 2.9 Any sick leave which requires to be availed outside UAE will require approval from the    IHHC Management.


3. DEFINITION:

4. PROCEDURE:

 4.1 Employees must notify their Head of Department or Supervisor, if employee is sick and    unable to attend to work before the scheduled time of work.

 4.2 To avail sick leave, the employee should be consulted and advised rest by the Physician    (G.P.) from other hospital.

 4.3 The staff should present a copy of a printed Online HAAD Medical Certificate signed and    stamped ba a certified HAAD Physician.

 4.4 Sick leave exceeding 5 days/employee leaving the country during the sick leave, needs to    submit the duty rejoining from upon arrival.


5. RESPONSIBILITY:

 5.1 Human Resources will monitor & communicate this policy effectively to all Island Home    Health Care staff and employees
